Casio G-Shock
G-Shock is a type of watch designed by Casio. This watch is known to be highly resistant to damage caused by impact and strong vibrations. Casio primarily designed this type of watch for sports and outdoor oriented activities.
At its launch in 1983, Casio's G-Shock changed the notion of watches as a fragile piece of jewelry. The G-Shock line of watches was the answer of Casio engineers to the challenge of creating the world's toughest watch. Its shock resistant design lies in a triple-protection technique for the parts, module, and case. This technology resulted in a radical watch that is virtually unaffected by shock or strong impact.

Style and Function
The G-Shock line strives to fuse fashion with function in all its watches. Casio updates its G-Shock models twice a year during the Spring/Summer and Fall/Winter collections. New limited models are introduced more frequently throughout the year.
As with other contemporary fashion watches, G-Shock watches have also built a reputation as collector's items. Many consider the Frogman to be the most sought-after style. Some of the most popular limited edition Frogmans are Black Helios, Men in Yellow, Black Spots, and Brazilian.
The Casio G-Shock line also creates collaboration models with popular fashion brands. To create these models, Casio has collaborated with companies such as Stussy, TYO, Xlarge, Levi's, Nano Universe, and Coca-Cola.
Series/Models
- Baby-G
This brand of sports digital watch is aimed for young women. It shares the same rugged features of the G-Shock. However, it is smaller and more compact. In addition, it has a choice of designer colors and an added tele-memo feature.
- Master of G
Casio produced this series for the G-Shock line in the late 1990's. Many of the designs in the series showcased the latest form of technology introduced in the G-Shock range. These include the Tough Solar power source and a digital compass.
This series is amongst the largest G-Shock designs produced by Casio. It is most suitable for wearers with large wrists. The models in this series normally have a "man" suffix in their names. Some of its most popular models are:

Some of the series' distinctive features include:
- Steel casing surrounded by a thick neoprene or polyurethane bezel with an outer casing,
- Casio's Illuminator Display (except for the Frogman), and

- Wave ceptor
This is a series of Atomic G-shock watches manufactured by Casio. All existing Wave Ceptor watches are being synchronized to long wave time signal radio transmitters found all over the world.
